KF Mold Opening System – Simple, Safe, and Reliable Mold Maintenance

The KF mold opening system, developed by MEPAC CZ, s.r.o., is a robust and practical mechanical solution designed for the safe and ergonomic opening and closing of injection molds. Intended for tool shops, plastic production facilities, and maintenance departments, this manually operated system enables controlled handling of mold halves without the need for hydraulics or power connections.

The device consists of a solid steel frame with adjustable leveling feet to ensure stability on uneven surfaces. The working platform features two plates—one fixed, the other movable on linear rails. A mechanical brake locks the sliding half securely in place during mold operations. The system also includes predefined mounting points for optional support profiles, which help prevent mold tipping or movement during opening.

The KF system is available in three variants based on load capacity:

  • KF 3000: up to 3,000 kg – working surface 370 × 595 mm
  • KF 5000: up to 5,000 kg – working surface 950 × 550 mm
  • KF 10000: up to 10,000 kg – working surface 1200 × 600 mm

Maximum plate separation ranges up to 840 mm (KF 5000) depending on the model. Despite its stationary design, the unit can be moved easily within a workshop using a pallet jack, ensuring flexibility even in smaller spaces.
